Q: How long do I have to wait for my child to be enrolled at UF Early Childhood Collaboratory ?
A: The wait period varies depending on several factors:
Keep in mind that being on the waiting list does not guarantee a space for your child at UF ECC.
Please contact the Enrollment Coordinator Ethel Rocha ethelrocha@ufl.edu for more information regarding current wait period in a particular age group, and center.
Q: After I apply to the waiting list, can I change the projected start date?
A: Yes, you can contact the Enrollment Coordinator to change the projected start date any time before a space is offered to you.
Q: Can I apply even if I do not have information such as UF ID number, affiliation with UF, address in Gainesville, date of birth, gender and name of my child?
A: Yes, you can apply any time after conception and update this information by contacting the Enrollment Coordinator by email or phone call.
Q: Is there any discount for siblings?
A: No, we do not offer discount for siblings. Siblings pay full tuition as well as the waiting list application fee. However, siblings of enrolled children are given priority on the waiting list.
Q: How soon will I know if my child has a spot?
A: Baby Gator parents are required to give 30 days notice of withdrawal. As soon as this withdrawal notice is received, currently enrolled children will transition to the next age group, and the open space in a particular age will be offered to the next family on the waiting list within the same age group. Parents can check with the enrollment coordinator via email anytime for an update, including what number your child is on the waiting list.
Q: Is it guaranteed that I will receive a space by the date indicated on my waiting list application?
A: No. A space is not guaranteed by the date listed on the waiting list application. Enrollment depends on several factors, as outlined above.
Q: Do I have to re-apply for the waiting list if I decline the space?
A: If a space is declined once, the child will stay on the waiting list (according to the date the space was declined), parents can change the projected start date, but the space will not be guaranteed. If the space offered is declined for the second time, the child’s name will be removed from the waiting list, and parents will have to re-apply.
