Important Information regarding Enrollment at Baby Gator

Eligibility Requirement

1. Baby Gator is an inclusive center and enrolls children who have at least one parent or guardian employed by UF Health Shands. 2. FTE of .9 or greater.

Baby Gator at Diamond Village is located in the Diamond Village Housing Complex at the end of Diamond Road where it intersects with Newell Drive. Baby Gator parking lot for Diamond Village is directly behind the McKnight Brain Institute’s loading docks, just off of Newell Drive. Please call (352) 294-2243 for directions.

Wait List Confirmation

When your child has been placed on the Waiting List, you will receive an email confirmation from ethelrocha@ufl.edu.
If you do not receive an email confirmation within two weeks of mailing the application fee, please contact Enrollment Coordinator, Ethel Rocha, at (352) 294-1989.

Important Information regarding Enrollment at Baby Gator

Baby Gator at Lake Alice is closed for renovation from August 2022 through August 2023. We are still accepting waiting list applications for future enrollment, please refer to the FAQ for waiting time and other important information.

Eligibility Information

Baby Gator is an inclusive center and enrolls children who have at least one parent or guardian associated with any college or department of The University of Florida or UF Health. Undergraduate students must be full-time (12 or more credit hours for Fall and Spring semesters). Baby Gator at Newell Drive and Baby Gator at Diamond Village were developed in partnership with the Colleges of Medicine, Public Health and Health Professions, and Pharmacy. Parents who are undergraduates, graduate students, interns, residents, post-docs, fellows, and faculty of these colleges have priority for spaces in these two centers. Children from the Gainesville community whose parents are not associated with UF may be enrolled on a space available basis. Siblings of enrolled children are given priority on the waiting list. Children may be placed on the waiting list after conception
