On Thursday, October 26th, Baby Gator was awarded with one of the UF Medical Guild grants for its Baby Gator at Newell Drive Playground Improvement Project.   The UF Medical Guild began in 1959 to promote service and friendship at UF Health and the surrounding communities and has been raising money to provide scholarships, rewards, and grants. Since the guild was founded they have been able to donate over $1.1 million to help fund health-related projects in our community.  The guild is able to support so many special projects through its partial ownership of UF Health Shands Hospital’s gift shop and private donations. This year, the guild received 44 grant applications and awarded 16.  Baby Gator is thankful to have been chosen as a grant recipient this year and is looking forward to adding some features to the Newell Drive playground that will promote social and motor development play.
